Among These People is a project that does not document, but preserves. It does not describe, but evokes. It is a vision that moves through the Apulian landscape with the necessary slowness to grasp what often escapes: silences, traces, the remnants of everyday gestures that become myth. Here, the gaze does not seek the event, but the atmosphere; not the story, but the condition.

Puglia reveals itself as a state of mind rather than a territory. It is a place that vibrates through light, dust, and absence. A land that allows itself to be crossed only by those who know how to stop, by those who have the courage not to ask for explanations. Within this suspension, an emotional atlas takes shape, holding together sacredness and matter, memory and presence.
Some images act as true symbolic cores, conceptual pillars of the entire work. The reflection of an elderly woman holding a newborn is not merely a portrait: it is a threshold. It reveals the tension between origin and return, the circular force of care that binds bodies across generations. An intimate gesture that becomes, in its blurred reflection, a universal statement: every beginning carries an inheritance.
A body marked by a constellation, naked and vulnerable, transforms the skin into a map and the body into a sky. It is an image that speaks of inner orientation, of the need to read the world starting from oneself from one’s exposed fragility, from scars as stars.

Each image is a silent room, to be inhabited with attention and respect.
Among These People does not seek to depict a “South,” but a way of being in the world. It is a work about closeness, about time that remains, about what binds us to others even when we cannot see it. It is an inner landscape, reflected in opaque surfaces, where the human reveals itself in its most essential form: one that does not need explanation to be felt.
